good things that happened to me today:
1) I am wired right now. it is great. my internet service is so quick, it gets me to the website before I even know I want to go there! praise! unfortunately, my roommate has a password to the wireless router, and she doesnt remember what it is. so we will work that out some time this weekend. for now, we have to take turns.
2) I got an A on my Geotechnical engineering midterm! not just an A. I think I got the highest grade. I mean... this is probably the hardest class I am taking. my professor is a stiffly stifferson like you wouldnt beleive! sort of like my dad. not like it is such a bad thing. I am learning a lot in that class. and the fact that he reminds me of my dad actually helps me pay attention. anyhow, this would be the first time I ever got the high score for a test in an engineering class. there was that one time in high school Biology. I think I studied about 5 hours for this test. that's pretty normal for an engineering student. not for me, but for the rest of them. maybe I should do that for all my tests. or at least 4 hours.
3) Geotech lab is separate from the class. I am taking it at the same time though. I have a great lab team. they are always on top of things. everyone is always doing his part to move things along, and we are usually the first group to finish. today, we were just doing calculations. we had to show him our results at the end of class. I brought my lap top and did the whole thing on excell. it actually took just as long as doing it by hand like everyone else. but then, at the end of his lecture, he told us he had purposely given us a wrong number which changed every number in this huge table of calculations. all I had to do was change the number in my excell spread sheet and everything just fixed itself. so my group were out of there by 8:10, while the rest of the class were in there till 9 re-doing everything by hand. that felt good. I stayed at the university till 9 anyway just because I am a dork. I met up with Laurentiu in the computer lab because he was going to drive me home. he, will and Anderson were drawing stuff on AutoCad. We ended up watching will and anderson trying to skateboard down flights of stairs. it was hilarious!
