police shooting in Long Beach
last friday at around 1, I was shopping for a christmas gift at an art store on 4th and Long Beach Boulevard. when I walked out of the store there was a huge traffic jam on Long Beach Boulevard complete with yellow tape, ambulences, something like 40 police cars,... I continued to go about my business. I went to wallmart against my better judgement. didnt find anything. I should have known. bumm dee dumm... I called Laurentiu and He gave me a ride home.
That evening when we were on the way to my mother-in-law's house for pre-christmas dinner, we saw a sign on the freeway about an armed suspect of a police shooting. we confirmed later that night that I had been 2 blocks from the sight of this police shooting, and I did not even notice.
I had christmas eve in Long Beach this year. it was fun. we had Romanian Cabage rolls and eggplant salad and French onion soup for dinner. for desert, I made my grandmother's recipe cheesecake. people told me it would be really hard to make, but it wasnt that bad. I also made pumpkin pie and Baklava just in case the cheesecake didnt turn out. everything turned out well. we had christmass in Huntington Beach with Laurentiu's mom.
