I'm not dead just yet :)

Yeah...so i've been neglecting my lj lately. Come to think of it, i've been cut off from everyone these last couple of days. Other than my roommates, i haven't really talked to any of my friends in the past week. I've unintentionally put myself in a routine.

Tuesday afternoon, erin called me and said she was in the emergency room again. She went the week before and we all thought everything was fixed but i were way wrong. She was in north regional hospital down the street from where i work. I tried calling her after work but she didn't answer. That got me worried b/c she was crying the last time she called me. I worry a lot about my friends, specially when they call me crying from the emergency room. I always end up feeling helpless b/c there's nothing i can do to make them feel better. Chris called me at 11 that night and asked if i'd heard anything from erin. We both figured she had to turned her phone off for some reason. Finally, around 11:45 or so, she called and told me that they has just finished running tests on her so chris and i went to visit her. We stayed there until 2 and then went home. Naturally, after seeing her like that, i couldn't sleep that night.

Wednesday was horrible. I tried to get some sleep at the reitz but some guy woke me up b/c he said i was snorring a little bit. I was pretty much walking and sleeping on wednesday. Work cheered me up a little bit but i was still pretty much dead. Right after work, i picked up katie and we went to the hospital. Erin's mom was already there, she had driven up from miami and she said her dad is on his way from atlanta. Erin was totally out of it. She was trying so hard to stay wake but kept passing out from all the medicine she was on. Her mom told us about the tests they did on her. They drew blood and urine samples then they made her beathe in some low radiation gas to see which parts of her are really working and then took several cat scans and x-rays. Turns out she had blood in her urine which meant she had a urinary track something that was spreading into her kidneys. To top it all off, she was getting pneumonia b/c the doctors saw water around her lungs. Katie and i didn't stay long so erin could get some rest. At least they know what's wrong with her now and she's getting the right treatment.

That night i got several hours of real sleep. It helped b/c i had a really early shift the next day. I've come to dread thursday b/c that's the day i work with the 3 year olds. They're cute and everything but they're totally impossible to work with. Reading stories was the easy part, and so was snack time but when trying to teach them to paint is definately not fun. I got them started off just fine and dandy. I showed them an example and they started following it. They were making swirls everywhere but i can see some resemblences of snowmen. I turned around to tape my sample picture on the board and by the time i turned back, connor and christian had dumped a cup of paint onto the table and was smearing it everywhere. I grabbed the two of them and told them to stop but it was too late, mary grace saw it and dumped her cup out too and started splashing her hands on the puddle of green paint. Needless to say, i got splatter marks all over me too. That pretty much ended painting lessons and i moved them on to the blocks and legos. My class became the example of what not to do when it was the other class's turn to paint :( After work, i had vertibrate anatomy lab. We're doing bones this week and next week but the week after that, we start muscles and we have to start dissecting stuff (mostly cats and baby sharks).

I went back to the hospital when i got done with class. It was good to see erin wake and walking around. Her parents were there and some of her other friends were there too. We just watched tv most of the night. We found out she was going to get to check out the next day so we could all stop worrying about her.

Friday was the pretty much the same as wednesday except i went home and slept instead of going to the hospital. The only thing was now i'm sick. The crazy weather up here, the not getting any sleep, and the little kids that sneeze and cough and hug me finally got me sick. I slept until 2 on saturday. Around 3, brian called me and said his car died and he needed to get towed back to his place. I have AAA and my car doesn't really break down so i usually let him use my card. I just so happened that it was raining that day and that didn't make waiting for the tow truck all that fun. With all the stuff that's gone on, i haven't really had time to talk to anyone and for that i appologize. And for the one person who called to ask if i was ok, thank you so much, it means a lot to me.
