do you take requests? drop it like it's hot?

are you in, or are you out?

okay, so, in this newfound effort to document everything, we begin.
i worked for geoff again thursday night, so my boy could 1. buy me dinner and 2. finish writing a paper on medieval economic history. i was actually covering another barista's shift, too, and it was britt's first night running her own shift, so i was glad that i was there. i love having complete command over the bar when it is busy--i mean, it is one of the few things in the world that i know that i can do better than almost anyone else. you may think that i am being cocky, here, but that is just the truth. (i worked with jane this morning, which is always strange, as i was running the shift but she's my boss. anyway, i asked her if she'd like to be on bar or float. she said that i should be on bar, as i am the best barista in central virginia.) so after work, it was midnight, and i had to be back at work in less than six hours, so i just stayed up. i am getting used to doing that, and i kind of like it. i stayed up and wrote emails, and just did my thing. i downloaded some songs.
so then i went to work early and talked to the guy from performance who was working on the trash room, Mike, who also goes by Porkchop. When i got to the store, he was sitting outside, and told me that he heard something, and that the Blair Witch lives in the basement, so he had to take a break for a while. he's a cool guy, and it was good to talk to someone different and new. he had some shit to say about Frank, which always makes me laugh.
It was a good shift--I worked with Jessie and Lolo, and we ran a good shift. I told Americano Michael that i came up with a name for his drink: an over/under americano (he likes two shots down and two up, and really, that is the best way to drink it). anyway, Michael asked when we'd all be working together again, and i told him that we weren't, so he ran and gave us each $25 from the ATM. we each dropped five in the jar and kept the rest. I really didn't even know what to say about that--he's too nice to us, but I appreciated it, and I am going to write him a thank you note. he's one of those customers that you love to see walk through the door.
Also, Sam came in this morning, and I completely rocked things for the five minutes he was there. Sarah was right in front of him, and Zo behind, so i was glad to have the perfect legendary service experience to show him. I know that I am kissing ass right now, but i really want that promotion, and i know that i deserve it, i just need him to see that.
So I went home and crashed for a few hours, and then got up and prettied myself for Sarah's a cappella concert. Lolo nash-holed her way out of it at the last minute, but carlymonster came with. we sat with Helen, and with Brittany's family. I am still totally crushing on Sarah, and i need to do something about it. i will admit that a cappella isn't really my thing, but it was really good. it was so much fun to watch Helen--she doesn't get out too much, you know. she kept making comments about how there were no sisters up there. i told monster that the screaming girls were going to make me start menstruating. i also told her that i kept hoping the next song would be 'drop it like it's hot.' it never happened, but it would have been so good.
so, after that, i looked for sarah but couldn't find her, and then monster and britt and patrick and i went to maartens. brewster had a heart-to-heart, and decided that if things don't work out with our family-visits for xmas, we'll go out to dinner together. monster and i had a shot of jager--she said it was my pretend birthday. brynn showed up, and finally introduced me to trevor. he seems nice, but the instant decision was that i am way cuter than him. danielle and carly let me in on some maartens gossip, and then monster and i went to starbucks, where we picked up geoff and audrey, and i drove them home. i then crashed on the couch, talked to rusty, watched my cartoons, passed out, then woke back up, wrote in my journal, and now i am craving some coffee, so i am going to roll up to the bucks in a while, and see what the next 36 hours will bring.
