And witty!
Relevance: We built - or attempted to build - a blanket/couch fort at the Catholic Campus Ministry house the other day because it was a rainy day and, well, we were hyper.
In other news, life is going well. I've got a wonderful boyfriend, I'm about to graduate college (knock on online wood...which sounds gross...), I still love my roommate of two years, my friends are beautiful and wonderful, and I'm even getting more hours at work.
The biggest most recent event was that I went to see Jason Mraz at the Norva here in Norfolk. It was the most amazing night I've had in a long, long time. Before the show even started, The Makepeace Brothers (opening band), Bushwalla (opening artist), and JASON HIMSELF came out and entertained the people standing in line. And when I say entertained, I mean the MP bros were singing and playing, but Bush and Jason were juggling, making balloon animals, and exchanging witty banter with faithful fans standing in line.
Besides that, the show was seamless, with an MC (Justin Kredible, like a magician but cooler) and no breaks in between acts except for a 10-min. break to set up for Jason's set. The songs were amazing, the people onstage were beautiful, and I had the greatest time. If you look on YouTube some of the more recent Jason Mraz and Bushwalla videos are actually from the Norva on 4/19.
BY THE WAY! If you've never heard of Bushwalla or The Makepeace Brothers, check them out on Myspace or google them. It's worth the effort, believe me. Bushwalla is what can essentially be characterized as "acoustic hip-hop" and the MP bros are eclectic and fabulous but do mostly acoustic kinda stuff. Also check out Justin Kredible's website and, of course, visit JasonMraz.com. His site is new since I've been there and he's got hilarious audio for most of the sections on there. Great stuff.
I've got essays and exams happening, but I'm getting out of here so of course you'd expect that at the end of the semester. Graduation is May 10th and man oh man I'm hyped. If you're wondering what I'll be doing after college, so am I so don't ask me. It only makes me nervous.
Alright, I've avoided studying more for Anthropology long enough. I'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball.
