Its no request, we really are insisting.

Well Im back. Seattle was awesome. I cant say that I "found myself" or any of that kind of bull, but the trip did put me back where I needed to be. I could tell you stories of how I saw an 8 year old emo and a woman with a very distinct beard, how I actualy danced, how I slept perilously over a staircase, was attacked by mimes, and saw Iggy Pop nearly start a riot. OK, I'll tell that one at least.

After the dissapointment of not getting into the Flogging Molly show before it filled up, we stayed for the last show of the festival: Iggy and the Stooges. Iggy Pop runs out on the stage, shirtless and dancing like a madman. The guy put on a real show. Honestly, you DO NOT see his kind of energy often. After he got everyone pumped, he yells "ALLRIGHT, NOW I WANT EVERY MOTHERFUCKER IN SEATTLE TO GET ON THIS STAGE NOW!" This is when hell breaks loose.

Security DID NOT want people on the stage, regardless if Iggy did or not. So as the floodgates open and people in the front row start to climb over the barricade, the security in front of them starts pulling them off the stage. I could see fights breaking out and security throwing punches. Numerous.

The music STOPS. Iggy stops screaming at the security guys "WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I TOLD THEM TO GET ON STAGE! LET EM UP" and whatnot. Then thats when people really start to climb.

Circled are Iggy in the middle of the crowd and what I can make out as security fighting concert goers. Thats only the tip of it. By the end of the song, you could not distinguish where the mosh pit stopped and the stage began.

And all I could think when I watched Iggy yelling at security and jumping around with all those people was:

"My god...THAT is punk rock."

I took a crap load of pictures, I'll post my faves later.
