Criminey (sp?) I haven't updated in a long time. I'm a lazy poster. Ha.
OK. The following has happened:
-I'm readmitted to FSU through their distance learning program now under a interdisciplinary social science major. Should take less time to finish than if I stayed in sociology. Be back (well online at least) this fall.
-The cop thing didn't work out. Not for lack of trying, but the one where you get paid training (the only one I was interested in) required you haven't touched drugs in 5 years. I wasn't gonna lie, so...yeah. Maybe in three more years.
-Got a new job. Customer service stuff. Ugh, yeah, but 'tis gonna pay almost twice as much as I made subbing bare minimum, with bonus opportunities. Took me long enough. Searching since November, I got the job two days ago. I started training yesterday, I start making money monday.
-Finished premarital counseling with Jess (sans a few minor last-minute things that wait until we set an actual date). Now it's just getting the money together, a place without roommates, and setting the date. Now that I have a guaranteed source of income with no variable setting lower than nearly twice what I was making at my best subbing, that shouldn't be long.
-Read about a novel every other day for the past four or so months. I know Forgotten Realms like the back of my bloody head now (what can I say, I like Salvatore's stuff, and it made me branch off into the other authors, and what do ya know?)
-I have like four really good friends up here. Not bad for a not even year's time, for me at least.
-I'm in a weight loss contest with Jessica. I'm winning by one pound last time we checked. It's actually really motivating, since we set prizes and all for each other.
-My brother is STARTING VARSITY at his high school football team. #1 on the Depth Chart at Wide Reciever, and also tight end, and a couple defense spots. This is the most I've ever given a crap about sports in any way shape or form.
-My church is having a buttload of stuff going on I couldn't even fit in here.
-Not looking for a job is good. Not being around teenagers is BETTER.
