myspace, movies, and more

my myspace has been a little interesting lately.  there's been lots of gay/bi hookup lines and advertisements for the past few months, which i thought was weird, since i don't troll through those sites/offers.  alot of harry, chiseled guys with playful looks, you know the style.  this is when i realized that many months ago i changed my profile to read Bi, No children, Divorced.  and i realized that marketing can be tooled to each niche of society.  i switched it back to male, and it's always been black, but why do i get no advertisements for the latest Tyler Perry movie, but lots of stuff for Into The Wild?

i recently ruined a movie for my mom. War of the Worlds.  yeah, great effects and tons of action, but one of the premises didnt make sense.  alot of the premise is based on the idea that tom cruise's character was smart enough to take the one car in the world that had the solenoid replaced.  this is basically used to start the motor.  the thing is, you dont ned a solenoid if you're driving a manual car.  like my first car, an 1984 dodge, you had to pop into 2nd gear after giving it a good push, and away you go.  i did that for a good year and a half and yet most people didnt realize this.  i'm sure some mechanic at the local cineplex shouted it out.  and i hope this continues onward.

i went to the OBX for 5 days and got back tuesday. man was i sad to leave.  lots of drinks and sleep and beach and jacuzzi-ing.  it was terrific, and i met some... interesting kids.  lots of acoustic guitars and joni mitchell-type music going around.  not bad, but i was very happy when there was a Weezer segue. ok, this is too much.  i'm too much.

love and rockets,

Jules
