but canon is pretty much fucked.
“Remus!” He lifted his head from his book as Lily's authoritarian tones echoed down the corridor.
“Lupin!” And that was Severus Snape, approaching from the other end of the hallway.
If he'd been a paranoid sort of person, he'd have had the feeling that they were stalking him. But that was ridiculous: he couldn't imagine a couple more mismatched than Lily and Severus, and anyway…
“I want you,” Lily said briefly as she reached his side.
“I want you.” It sounded less convincing and more alarming in Snape's sneering voice.
Lily looked across at Severus and shrugged an elegant shoulder.
“We want you,” she said, turning back to Remus.
Um.
Just because you weren't paranoid didn't mean that they weren't out to get you. Remus looked uneasily from one to the other but said with typical mildness
“What can I do for you?”
He could have sworn that Severus and Lily exchanged glances. He would have liked to ask what the bloody hell was going on, but somehow he couldn't. Too many years of resigned acceptance lay in his past.
“What a leading question,” Severus said slowly, as they encouraged him (politely but very firmly) into the empty classroom he had just left.
Lily flicked her wand at the door and muttered a charm.
“Locked and invisible,” she said, smiling.
She had a singularly beautiful smile. Remus had never dared bring James's wrath down upon him by commenting on it. What was the most appropriate answer to what she had just said. “Good”? “Why”? “What the fuck”? Remus said none of them, just waited in silence.
“You are asking remarkably few questions in the circumstances, Lupin,” Snape commented.
“Perhaps he doesn't want to know what we want with him,” Lily suggested mischievously.
“Perhaps he already knows.”
Lily raised her eyebrows and turned to Remus.
“An intriguing thought. Do you, Remus?”
“No,” he said briefly.
He had been turning it over in his mind. The only thing he could think that these two had in common was an aptitude for potions which he certainly didn't share. So what had they demanded him for?
Lily smiled again.
“Then I'll give you a hint.”
Without warning, she had moved next to him, reaching a hand behind his head to draw his mouth down to hers. And was kissing, kissing him, and he…
“Lily!” He broke away. “You can't…”
Those eyes. Those green, beguiling eyes.
“I just did,” she pointed out.
“But… James… You - you can't…”
It was common knowledge that James had been pressing Lily to go out with him for more than a year. To kiss your friend's prospective girlfriend; that was beyond the bounds of acceptable. Even when the kiss… was everything you'd ever wanted. James would never forgive him.
Oh, and those eyes could flash fire, too.
“When Potter grows up and stops thinking that being a wanker deserves an applauding audience, I might - might - date him. Don't hold your breath.”
“Can we leave Potter out of this?” Severus said irritably. “Besides, I don't imagine he'd appreciate this, either.”
And Remus's mouth was taken in a wholly masculine kiss that took his breath away. It was like - and yet so very much not like - Lily that he could hardly think straight. When Severus lifted his head, Remus could feel his heart pounding at several times its normal rate. His eyes flicked from Severus to Lily - to Severus - to Lily. Lily held his gaze firmly; and he could feel Severus's eyes on the back of his neck.
“We will do nothing that you don't want, Remus. If you can look me in the eyes and tell me that you hate it, that you don't want it - us - we'll stop. I'm not lying, and nor will you.”
No, Remus would not lie. It was a very strange thing, but it was impossible to meet Lily's gaze and tell her something that wasn't true. Withhold the truth, yes; lie - no.
She turned to Severus.
“You're better at transfiguration than me. Do something about the room.”
Snape glowered at her.
“Mudblood,” he muttered under his breath as the desks gave way to a comfortable - large - bed.
Lily was leaning back against Remus, her long hair tickling his neck and cheek.
“One day I'm going to thrust that word down your throat and choke you,” she remarked dispassionately, looking at the bed and adding “Nice job.”
“Your satisfaction is everything.” It had the trademark Snape sneer, but his incivility bounced off Lily as if it were non-existent.
“Come, Remus,” she said, taking his hand and pulling him over to the bed.
“I don't think…”
“Good,” Severus said sardonically. “We didn't bring you here to think.”
“Nothing you don't want,” repeated Lily; and Remus hadn't the words to say that that was what he was afraid of, not with Lily kissing his neck and mouth, Severus unbuttoning his robes with fingers that were neat and sure. Somehow, if Remus had thought about it, he might have expected him to be clumsy; but Severus's fingers had reached lower still and Remus… Remus wasn't thinking about much except that - that and the soft touch of Lily's hands on his back, her mouth on his cheek. She was covering his face with soft kisses like summer rain at midnight; and somehow his arms were around her as she pulled him backwards so that they were lying across the bed, Severus sitting beside them, his hands exploring with a firm confidence that felt… Remus had an uncomfortable guilty feeling that he wasn't going to be asking Severus to stop any time soon.
Lily lay across him, her breasts firm against his bare chest. He had entwined one hand in her hair and was running the glorious red tresses through his fingers.
“I… shouldn't be doing this,” he said unevenly.
Shouldn't be doing this. Shouldn't be kissing Lily. Shouldn't be even conversing with Severus, let alone anything else. More than anything, shouldn't be here with both of them. Together. James would never forgive him for this. Not for Severus; especially not for Lily. Sirius… Remus didn't want to think about what Sirius might say about the idea of him and Severus together.
She smiled down at him.
“Tell us to stop,” she said, but Remus knew that
With one hand she was undoing her shirt, whilst the other touched and teased the skin she was uncovering. She was braless, Remus realised; and despite himself his hand crept inside her top, cupping a full, heavy breast in his palm. Lust conquered guilt as he couldn't help but react to the beauty, the forbidden pleasures of her body. Lily made a soft sound of pleasure, her eyes shutting for a second as she moved against him. But then it was Remus's turn to gasp because Severus's hands had been replaced by his warm, wet mouth, which wrapped itself around his cock, licking and sucking until Remus was incapable of stringing a thought together, let alone a sentence.
“Ah… oh God… oh…”
Lily's mouth was on his, capturing the moans, her tongue making love to his mouth as Severus's was to his cock. He couldn't lie still, bucking his hips under the sensual assault; pushing Lily's shirt away from her shoulders, leaving her breasts open to the air and his touch. He was going to come, he was so nearly there, he was…
And then Lily had pulled away, and Remus wondered if he had offended her, especially as Severus, too, had stopped what he was doing. Then he felt a (different) mouth close around him, and the tall firm body of Severus press up against him, dragging his arms from his robes. Severus was… was naked and - that shouldn't turn him on as much as it did, especially when he didn't think he could be any harder, not with Lily kneeling between his legs.
Severus's kisses were different to Lily's; and Lily had gentled the pressure on his cock. Indeed, she seemed to be wetting it rather than sucking it, and…
His hand was on Severus's arse, and he'd never touched a man's arse but… God, he wanted the feel of Severus's cock in his mouth, wanted to do to Severus what Lily was doing to him, but - there were some things you couldn't say, and begging Severus to let him do that was…
Lily was sliding him inside her; and Severus… Oh fuck, Remus hadn't said, had he?... Severus had placed himself so that Remus could just turn his head and… He had done so without even realising, gathered Severus in his mouth; was loving - was panting for - the hardness of Severus that was combining so intensely with the soft yielding flesh of Lily. Lily was rocking gently on top of him; Severus thrusting into his mouth until he thought he might choke, but at the same time he… didn't want him to stop. Half-consciously, he saw Severus meet Lily's eyes across him; felt that somehow something had been agreed silently between the two of them. And Remus wanted - Remus wanted them to continue, to take him further towards the edge; to allow him to tip over into the orgasm that felt so close.
But Severus had pulled away; Lily had rolled over, pulling Remus on top of her and oh God, Severus wasn't… was he? And Remus was ashamed by how much he hoped that he would because he wasn't gay, not really, but Severus inside him! The thought excited as it repelled. The knowledge that he shouldn't, that this was wrong… Why not admit it? That turned him on more. And he heard Snape mutter something and his arse was suddenly wet and tender. He could feel Severus pushing a finger inside him and (this really shouldn't be so good) he rocked forwards onto Lily and then back, pressing himself against Severus's hand; forward and back; and now there were two fingers inside him, stretching him, and at the same time he could feel Lily's muscles clenching around him and he felt himself sweating, heard his breathing become faster and louder.
Severus - yes! yes! - was pushing inside him and he was so full, and at the same time filling Lily so that she moaned her encouragement aloud, crying
“Yes, yes, Remus, yes….”
And he could hear Severus behind him, harsh, guttural breaths which made him more aroused than ever. As Severus pushed, he found himself thrusting into Lily and his hands were on her breasts - those gorgeous full breasts - whilst hers tangled in his hair, on his back (no, wait: those were Severus's hands, were they? He didn't care, really.) He felt Lily pulse around him, her cries filling the air with unselfconscious ecstasy; and as Severus thrust once more, Remus felt himself come with a sigh that was almost a groan. Severus followed; and they collapsed in a tangle of limbs on the bed, Lily laughing as she caught her breath.
Later, when Remus's heart rate was approaching normality, he raised his head slightly.
“I don't suppose there's any point in asking what just happened there?”
“I thought you gathered,” said Lily innocently.
“Or why?”
“Do you wish it hadn't?” she asked.
“I… don't know.”
“You wanted it to,” said Severus.
Remus winced slightly.
“I'm not sure I should have…”
“'Should have' what?” demanded Severus, an eyebrow raised. “Fraternised with the enemy, as I am known? Or with your friend's love-object - Evans?”
“How can you go to bed with someone and still call her by her surname?” Remus snapped.
Severus shrugged.
“I didn't. I went with you.”
“But Lily…”
“Lily went with you, too,” Lily said coolly. Then, as Remus looked bewildered, “Oh honestly, Remus, did we not make it plain enough? We both wanted you. Not each other. You.” She smiled maliciously at Snape. “Severus would be mortified by the very suggestion he'd slept with a mudblood like me.”
Remus's eyes swivelled to Snape's face, which kept its usual air of blank superiority.
“But…”
“But nothing.” Lily's look was as direct as ever. “No agonising, Remus. You enjoyed yourself, I enjoyed myself; even Severus - presumably - enjoyed himself. What's wrong with that?”
“If guilt suits him, Evans, let him keep it.” Severus looked sardonic. “He can always tell himself later that we forced him into it, if he wants to keep his conscience clean.”
“I suppose we did - in a way,” said Lily.
“No. Oh no, Evans. Make no mistake about it. Remus wanted it as much as we did.” Severus's unnerving black gaze was fixed on Remus. “Didn't you?”
Remus was silent.
“Didn't you?” pressed Severus.
“Severus!” Lily objected.
“No, Evans. He'll say it. He needs to acknowledge it. You wanted everything - every single thing - that happened to you, didn't you, Remus?”
He sighed.
“Yes,” he said with reluctant honesty.
Severus nodded as if satisfied. Lily pressed a light kiss on his hair.
“We're very fond of you, Remus dear.” Severus sniffed; and Lily smiled. “Or at least, I'll admit to it. Severus thinks admitting affection is a sign of weakness.” She stood, stretched, and pulled on her robes. “I'll see you sometime,” she said, and left the room.
Severus followed without another word, and Remus, stunned and bewildered, was left alone, regarding a double bed which had once been a row of desks, and a body which had experienced more than he'd ever anticipated.
