Hehehe. Joey's wonderful. :) The others are grand, too--especially the Harry one. Actually, no, all of them are. *shivers happily*

I think I might turn into a CS/HP crossover writer. I'm loving it :) But it's definitely weird the way the Chalet School way of phrasing takes over. Somehow, I'd find it hard to write Charles Maynard's first day at Hogwarts because it would require a Potter tone, and I'm not sure I could do that with a Chalet character... (*is now tempted to try*)

Do iiit! Pretty please? *flutters eyelashes and stuff*

Now I really want a 'The Triplets Go To Hogwarts' fic. Or 'Hogwarts and Jo'.

Hehe. Pomfrey versus Matron. Rock. :)

I wonder if I can convince one of my leet icon-making friends to make some sort of a 'English school stories whore' or 'I <3 English school stories' icon. Not that CS is exactly English, what with all the locations, but it goes well with Mallory Towers etc.

Did you ever manage to read the analysis of the Chalet series? It was published alongside the others, and I found it at a library a couple of hours north when I was a teenager staying with my grandparents. It talked about all the massive language errors she made, and other bits of craziness. Like how all of the popular stories of the times had their heroines having twins, so she wrote Joey having triplets and it blew everybody's minds. So cute.

Oh hell yeah. In fact, you're talking to someone who's writing a thesis on the chalet school and gender (well, actually, on maternity and sickness break for two years, but it's bubbling in the background). I LOVE love love the Chalet books and all the analysis and stuff. Do you know "Virtual World of Girls" (http://users.netmatters.co.uk/ju90/start.htm) because it's someone else's thesis on English girls' school stories and is fabulous!

Ooer, I'd never heard about it before. *clickee* And a thesis? Sweet.

Ugh to maternity leave when there's sickness involved. I couldn't walk properly until Della was nearly one, and I couldn't walk well enough to actually function in the workplace until the start of last year. (2005 to clarify, since it's an hour to midnight and all). I was so happy to be able to get back into the world and actually do stuff again.

*hug*

Well, it was my own fault: I've been ill 14 years and I chose to have the baby anyway. But I sleep mostly when he does so never have any time (except Wednesday mornings when my mum babysits) to work at the thesis. I'm working on it s-l-o-w-l-y, but thankfully got the extra time after fighting the university with all my might for it :)

I had a friend who had a serious, sudden health issue that left her unable to function at all for two weeks after a bit of a build up. She got a two week extension, and no time at all to account for how sickly she'd been before and how she was afterwards. I never thought that was particularly fair.

It's not your fault, I think. It's my opinion that you're entitled to have babies if and when you want, and should be able to get through it without a problem. Of course, that's never applied to me, but that's not the point. *hates on pregnancy like woah*
