Just some good news to share.
My mom and dad are a match. ......meaning. My dad is going to be able to give my mom one of his kidneys. For those that care, my mom is in kidney failure and on dialysis since right before our wedding. If all goes well she will be able to come off of dialysis and function fairly normally with a new kidney. Had my father not stepped up and offered his kidney my mom could've waited as long as 8 years to get one although no one is for sure she would have lasted that long. In fact she was telling the dialysis people that she would do anything to come to the wedding, including miss dialysis. They had told her she couldn't go because of her dialysis regimen. She didn't think it was a big deal but they told her she would die if she did that. My dad started crying and pleading with the doctors to make it work cause she was his life. That he would do anything to keep her with him, even if it was for only a little while longer. They made some calls and worked it out.
My father is an amazing man. My parents have been married 35 years and they've taught me more than they know about what it means to love someone with all your heart. I can honestly say they've been married that long, had three kids......and still flirt with each other. It's gross for me, but a good thing none the less. anyways.
