The giving of thanks

I was in LA last week.  We made it to the NCAA tourney again this year and our first round game was against San Diego. We won and it was awesome.  Our second round game was against UCLA who is the #1 team in the country.  We lost and it was not awesome, but we played well and we were just unlucky to get stuck in a really hard bracket.  Can't complain too much though about making it to the second round of the tourney for the second year in a row and finsishing the season ranked again.

LA was nice.  On Saturday we went to an outdoor cafe in Brentwood and Tom Hanks and his family were sitting at the table next to ours.  It was crazy awesome.  They were all really down to earth, just a normal family, and he wished us luck on our game.  I love that man's voice.

Had to take the red eye from LA to Oklahoma City and we didn't get back to stillwater until 6:30 this morning.  I had to study for a test all morning so I got about an hour and a half sleep on the plane and that's it.  I'm kind of exhausted right now.  The test went well though.

It sucks that we didn't advance further into the tournament, but it does mean that I'm coming home for Thanksgiving.  Excitement and relief are the emotions I'm feeling about this.  I'm looking forward to going home and seeing friends and family.  Aww, the loved ones.  I'm getting home tomorrow afternoon so I'll have 4 or 5 days to just relax and have a life.  That's something I haven't had since July.

Shout out to Christopher Loftis and his birthday, which is Wednesday.  I know we don't talk much anymore, but if your reading this, know that you are still in my thoughts.  Hopefully I can actually see you in the next few days.  So here's an early Feliz Cumpleanos mi amigo :)

So here's to friends, family, and those native americans we wiped out so that we could take over this great land that we now call ours.  If it weren't for those guys being nice enough to share a meal with us and allowing us to exploit that,  we wouldn't be the controlling, arrogant nation we are today.
