My future parents-in-law will be here tomorrow for a little visit. I've alreay cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, so now I just need to work on the living room and animal room (formerly the dining room). All of my bills are paid, I'm off work today, The Apprentice doesn't come on until 8, the animals have been fed... so, that means that I have pretty much all day to finish what I need/want to do. We've had this stupid couch in our living room since AUGUST, and I'm ready to get rid of it. Trash pick-up is tomorrow, so hopefully we can haul that ugly thing out onto the sidewalk so they can relieve me of it in the morning.
I never have a whole lot to write about it here. *sigh*
Yesterday, we sat out on our porch for a couple of hours with our neighbor, Priscilla, her two kids, and the kids that live across the street. I learned a few things.
- I'm going to miss this neighborhood, but not the house.
- If Priscilla had the opportunity to steal our White's Tree Frog, I think she'd do it. I'd never seen anyone so intrigued with a frog before.
- The oldest son in the house across the street has been likened to the Macauley Caulkin's character in The Good Son.
- Chameleons should not be handled by children. Ever.
- When Priscilla was young, she climbed onto the top of a local greenhouse, and fell through the roof.
I'm going to miss days like yesterday. They're the kind of people that I'm going to regret moving away from. They've become friends, not just neighbors. I just hope that we can find that wherever we end up in August.
