I've been working on a graphic novel. I'm 30 pages into the illustration and I just scripted the last of it. It's been slow going. I'm not sure if I'm not relating to the characters as well as I'd like or if, simply, they are characters and I'm a pretty shallow writer, focasing mainly on neat visuals. That said, I started writing a short story recently (illustrated comic style, no I'm not doing prose) that is set in a snowy tundra. This set me thinking about the very well written "Tough Guide to Fantasy Land" by Diana Wynn Jones and published by the lovely Penguin editor
sdn . There is an entry where DWJ comments that people in hot, desert areas always seem to wear too many clothes where as people in frozen, snow climes wear not enough clothing. SO yeah, I'm not making that mistake. COme to think of it, all my characters wear lots of clothes in any situation. I like lots and lots of layers. Funny coming from a person who does not actually like layers in real life.
Anyway, just stuff going through my head.
