Pinkwasher: (pink’-wah-sher) noun. A company that purports to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon campaign, but manufactures products that are linked to the disease.
Companies such as Yoplait and its parent company General Mills. Mercedes and Estee Lauder are guilty as well. They also touch on how little the walks, runs, stamps and clicks for breast cancer support actually go to help women. I'm unthrilled that this organization supports more federally funded health care, but it is worth it to know about the pink ribbon donning hypocrites.
