There once was a girl I loved
She smelled of pedals and fresh air
laying in the fields by my house
I’d watch her intriguingly dance in the flowers
singing along with the birds
the sun shining through her curly blond hair.
she let me hold her hand and kiss her cheek
I thought we'd be together forever
There once was a girl I liked a lot
She smelled of perfume and makeup
sitting on the fence near my house
I’d watch her happily skip rocks across the road
swaying along with the wind
the sun shining down on her sparkly toe nails
she let me feel on her body
I thought we'd be together for a long time
There once was a girl I didn't mind
she smelled of cigarettes and beer
walking down the road near my house
I’d watch her silently rip the pedals from flowers
bobbing her head to the sound of music
the sun shining on her smoke rings
she let me have sex with her
I thought we'd be together for a while
There once was a girl I did not like
she smelled of death and decay
standing on the corner near my house
I’d watch her sadly stare at her reflection
lifting her skirt up to the sound of cars
the sun shining on her decaying skin
she tried to sell herself to me
I thought we'd die of aids.
