Surprise!

Last night was a really fun night I must say. Though I stayed up too late, didn't get enough sleep, and now I feel cranky and lethargic, I feel that it was worth it.

JF wrote his second exam yesterday afternoon and now feels that he is done, except for the fact that he has 4 exams left to write and one report, but easy compared to the first 2 exams apparently. Hey, as long as you don't feel stressed! I support it.

After the exam we went out to dinner at our favourite restaurant, The Copper Penny. I love it there. We went on our first official "date" there, went there to celebrate getting engaged right after it happened, and I plan to keep going as long as we live around here. Soo good! We had a great meal and then I "suggested" that we go out for a drink. We discussed where to go and I conceded that if he wanted to go to this pub he likes that we could, even though I have previously said I didn't like it (I forget why). Anyway, off we go.

We get there and I say "Oh, I think Kaitie and Dan were supposed to be here tonight, let's see if we can find them" and proceed to look around very conspicuously for them. Then I see Kaitie walking towards me. "Oh, there she is!" I say.

We walk over to the almost-private room were they are sitting and "Surprise!". I had planned a surprise party for JF's birthday, which was last week. I wasn't even hiding it that well but because he was so tired from his exam he didn't even notice. It was an awesome party. I was glad that so many people showed up, I think it was 12 people! That's a good turnout for a Wednesday during exams! We had a lot of fun. Well, JF and I did, I hope everyone else did too. I had bought party hats and blowers(?) and a birthday boy ribbon. Sometimes I like the dollar store too much. Anyway, it turned out cute.

So today my Dad came up and we did some errands. We went to the mall to see if the wedding bands were in yet (because they hadn't called yet, but they hadn't called the first time either, but oh well) and they were in! So we picked them up and I gloated over them in the car. That's another thing off my list! I love having such a detailed checklist, it makes me feel like I have accomplished a lot even when I have only done one small thing. What's that? Decorate a Just Married sign for the car? Checkmark! Called the priest? Checkmark! Open planning book for 3 seconds? Checkmark! Ohh, I should add that to the list. Ahem. Anyway.

Now I am hanging out this small (but tonight feels huge and lonely) apartment by myself. I decided not to go to the pub again tonight because I feel cranky and I do not wish to subject myself on people when I am cranky. I finished the book I have been reading called "Searching for God Knows What" by Donald Miller, that was really great. I liked the first one I read of his better though, "Blue Like Jazz". Yeah, I don't get the title either, but that's what it's called. Really good book though.

I was talking to my mom on the phone and she reminded me that tomorrow is a no-meat day cause it's Good Friday. I had forgotten. Bad Catholic! I need to brush up on the rules I guess. This is what happens when you go to church in French for 3 years when you don't really understand French. You forget things, it seems. We're going to the Cathedral in English tomorrow because we're going to the Vigil on Saturday in French as JF is reading. I need at least one English mass this Easter season since I'm not going home. The Easter bunnies have already been around though. Yum yum Easter bunnies! That reminds me, I haven't had dinner. I'd better go eat some meat before midnight. Happy Easter!
