I have been
thrice published by Circlet Press (
circletpress). Each one was a rather singular piece of excitement, and honestly still is.
Above and beyond having been published, however, I've had the chance this weekend to participate in a Writer's Retreat at the press itself in Boston - it's been a heady few days, with several points of particularly gratifying creativity, and I've been immersed in the group energy of quite a few really incredible people. I'm going to be coming out of this with a new understanding of the modern evolution of the publishing industry in general, and of both Circlet Press and e-publishing in particular.
I am inspired - not only creatively, but to push myself toward becoming a more specific web presence; this is going to involve a big, long push to go backward through this journal and friend-lock a large number of my posts, or make one to post to alongside it as one more public-facing, an author journal. Given the time that it would take to F-lock so many posts, I'll probably go with the latter - and I'll probably go with creating a Wordpress or Blogspot along with it.
What blog engines (aside, obviously, from livejournal) do you folks have experience with? What are the ups/downs? What do you recommend?
