Iambic's Fandom Escapades, Continued!
Holy hell, you guys! A huge thanks to whoever nominated my Holic fic for the UFO Awards. The fic, for anyone interested, is the Buskerverse main storyline, which I ended up titling "In All Seasons" when I posted it on FFN. Back when I, er, still posted on FFN. (Don't be fooled by the old username, it's me, I swear.)
I feel kinda like I've cheated, though - or been cheated. The Buskerverse was fun, yes, but definitely not my best work, and very much a rough draft. I've been editing and consolidating Code Blue, and I think I might do the same with the Buskerverse. Would anyone be into reading a second draft? I'd be rewriting it as one short story as opposed to a scattering of vignettes.
Granted, this is in theory, as I have definitely been sucked completely into SGA fandom and possibly into a few potentially novel-length AUs (what is it with me and those things, anyway? I'm looking at you, Code Blue!). But still, it's nice to know if I should pull it out in a dry spell, or if I should devote such time to other pursuits, like mastering the piano or becoming a private investigator*.
In other news, I have lots of art which I can't show you because SCANNER WOE, as ever. But you can have my word that it's awesome (modesty, what modesty?). And I think that I have officially Drawn John Sheppard Too Many Times, as I can now freehand a realistic and fairly accurate portrait of his face. SOMEONE TAKE AWAY MY REFERENCE PICTURES AND MAKE ME DRAW TANGO DANCERS.
OH AND HEY YOU SGA PEOPLE. I'd like to contribute to casa_mcshep, but although I can appreciate it just fine, I DON'T DO DOMESTIC. Meaning I need ideas. Or prompts. Care to help a brother out?
