"All right, Mister Lestrange," the foreman says as he comes up. "We've got the blueprints and we've been working on securing materials. It might take some time, what with our other projects, you understand. We can get the site ready for you no problem, though."

He unrolls the blueprints.

"Majesty Mia has told us that the Magic Guild will still need to access the Cave of Trial from this level, so we'll have to take that into account while we build. How the foundation is set will related to how you want the house to face."

He's also just a little bit surprised. All this time he'd thought the Cave was a real cave outside the city. Part of a rock face, even.

Nope. It's here. In the city itself.

He's going to have to formulate a new plan to shapeshift unnoticed.

"Does it matter which way it faces?" he wonders. "Would it be bad if it faced the Cave entrance itself?"

[gorgonfondness]

"That's fine with us. We can put the entrance to the Cave of Trial as a separate room in the front. That way no one has to enter your house to get into the Cave."

[iambetadraconis]

"Build into the entrance, then?"

Pause.

"Would you have to tear down the current entrance to do that?"

[gorgonfondness]

"Probably," he says as he looks through the blueprints. "We really need to rebuild it anyway since it's structurally weak from the fall. And this way, it will fit in with your home much easier."

[iambetadraconis]

"The fall of the city," he mutters. And nods. "I think I should prefer it to not be facing in the same direction as the entrance proper, then. To the side, I think."

[gorgonfondness]

"To the side? Towards the other edge, then? Or facing inside the city?"

Standing on the street and facing the same way as the entrance, the other edge is the right and inside the city is the left.

"Hm. I ... think it depends on which way is easier for those who want to enter the Cave itself."

He taps his chin.

"Which way did folks usually enter the Cave?"

[gorgonfondness]

"The entrance faced the first edge of the city," he says, indicating this by pointing straight ahead.

[iambetadraconis]

"Then we should keep a little tradition, have the Cave entrance facing as it did before, and have my entrance facing in a different direction?"

[gorgonfondness]

"Okay, so would you like the Cave entrance to be on the back here?" he asks, gesturing to the back part of the house on the blueprints with a pencil.

"Yes."

With his wand, he points at a south-east point.

"We can put my entrance there?"

[gorgonfondness]

"Ah yes, that will work out just fine," he says, making a note of it and putting the entrance to the cave due south.

"So, it looks to me that the entrance will be close to the water feature mentioned here. Is that all right with you?"

[iambetadraconis]

"How close are we talking, exactly?"

Not that he's worried; he just can't read a blueprint.

[gorgonfondness]

"A few feet away. You could even have a garden box put in."

[iambetadraconis]

"A box full of grass?" he asks, looking rather perplexed. "Don't people normally put flowers in them?"
