It was the end of the past, it was the beginning of the future, it was the time of information, it was the time of prevarication, it was the era of globalization, it was the era of disconnection, it was the period of excess, it was the period of deprivation, it was the spring of Darkness and the winter of Light, we held immeasurable potential, we held inconceivable destruction, we were all waiting for the Rapture, we were all waiting for damnation-in reality, the times were so close to the future, that the authorities ignored the precautions, for better or for worse, the Second Middle Ages began.
