i went to spectrum today
that wasn't the interesting prt though
i went with my old neighbor whom i've know since i was like in first grade
i remember goin over to his hosue and like..he was strugglin to read like easy stuff
but anyway
thing that stuck out to me was the way he acted
we watched the transporter 2
(big w00p..haha..fakest ending in the world..u have to suspend ur belief in the law of gravity)
but we went outside
i got my jamba juice
and he's like
i hate those "chinos" or something
i'm like..watdya mean
and hes like those asians
and through out the night he was talkin bout how he thinks azns should "go back home"
(to add irony....this guy is hispanic)
loosely that blacks and latinos are the best races
arabics are going to blow us up
how he was the best at gettin the ladies
how his g-unit clothes made girls at the video game/pc game place take notice
how he was gonna talk to a lotta girls tonight
(he talked to one, and htat was the cashier at jamba juice...he asked her wat her favorite boost was)
and most annoyingly...he said every five seconds about how he hoped or (depending on wat mood he was) didnt hope he was going to see his ex-g/f
and i remember thinking
who does this kid think he is?
but then i'm like...maybe i'm being hypcritical
cuz me and my friends joke about race and stuff all the time right?
but there was something awkwardly sincere about what he was saying...
almost like he believed it fully...and when i questioned him...it seemed like it was the first time he thought otherwise
now i'm one who believes u can't be hard on rappers
i live by this line from one of kanye west's songs
"we rappers are role models, we rap we don't think"
but is it right?
the preach this lifesyle of how they grew up on the streets and got fame by hustlin and essentially not
caring
and then ppl and according to sterotypes, all of black america relate to this message because
a. fellow black ppl
b. black ppl are cool
c. sense of masculinity and strength
just like to say
that is bS
and i dont wanna take it
