Instructions: List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs.
1.Dizzee Rascal- Stand Up Tall
Three or Four weeks ago, I would've said "I Luv You" in this spot and to add 10 songs to my list- "Fix Up Look Sharp (Ratatat Remix)" would've been in the 8-10 list, but I'm really digging this track right now because of the electronic beats which god bless cocaine for at least bringing people to dance, and getting people to the dancefloor with all this cross-genre amalgamation! i'll give cocaine that much!
2.Mandalay - Like Her
One of the reasons I want to be getting my digital recording set-up shortly. The chorus is one of the most beautiful teeter-tottering melodies, shifting from one side of the brain to the other, epitomizing the special glimmer behind the eyes of girls and the intricacy, and oneofakindness a snowflake. I still wish to make a thumping house rendition of this song which just concentrates on the chorus though.
3.Sven Vath - Design Music
In this time of cyborgs, computers, clones, aliens, men, gods and robots - what better song unites us all in the discotheques of our own minds and of our own ultimate nature then this song by Sven Vath! The classic german accented club theme keeps me bopping and getting all electro machined out!
4.Solvent- Radio Gaga
Not to be confused with "My Radio" which is a slowed down version in a different key with some other melody layers on top and added some production by Sven Vath, this is the fast and my more favorite version as its got a constant more throbbing beat, i love the vocals and it just is a track that gets repeated often in my list of songs. A Toronto Musician no less!
5.Jentina - Bad Ass Strippa
This is a gem of a track with the subtle bat cave halled out production headnodding, lapdancing all the way to the bank! I love the background 'shake shake' whispers thrown in for good measure and the what sounds like the throwing and spinning of dimes and quarters hitting the lids of sewer holes. The chorus is so catchy, the sample of whatshisfucksname Trump's theme is so necessary!
6.Secret Service - "Touch Me"
Okay, when I was 6 years old I had a huge crush on Samantha Fox and even asked my mom to take me to the mall to see her. I was a teeny bopper and the feelings I got, at the time yet undefinable but the feeling of the red blushing of my face, the sweaty hands, queasy butterfly stomach and the transcendental feeling I would get when being told that Samantha Fox wanted me to touch her, is revisited in this remix which utilizes the power and strength of Sam's vocals that will make me jump on my bed to this song again and again, like I was 6.
7.The Space Cowboy - I Would Die 4 U
This maybe would've got knocked out by the oh so good club track of Benny Benassi & 50 cent's redemption mashup 'Satisfaction vs. In Da Club', however this past wednesday when dj'ing with Greg Quin, at the last second threw this song on before a set and then danced like a madman. It's the supersonic club version of the Prince Hit and it does a good job of capturing the sincerity and the energy of the original and succeeds in getting the blood juices flowing in all red blooded human beings who want to shake like a human being without listening to kim mitchell to get there!
