well, let's re-cap the last couple of days. A you know I'm adjusting to a new school environment. I kind of wished I'd maybe gone to this school earlier as it sure beats the thoughtless structure of Northern. Although I will admit it's a little disorganized and the lack of structure takes some getting used to, I like this school a hell of a lot better and I feel the freedom really motivates me to get my shit together and off of the floor. I was successfully able to switch into film studies fourth period, which i was pleased to hear was a diff. course code than the 'history of film' course I'd taken with the unbearably, pretentious goof Mr. Robert (Ro-Bear.. sounds ) at Northern last year. Even though I switched into Film Studies, I talked to the Queer studies teacher and asked her if I could still read Plato's "Symposium" and then give it back to her. She seemed like a really great teacher and that was a course that I was realy looking forward to taking. She said that I could read the book and then return it, and then I would be able to borrow any of the other reading material from the course which I thought was great of her. That was today. Yesterday, was outreach sponsor day. "outreach" is community service (or, career exploration, etc.- typically only permitted after first semester) which has to be tied-in in someway or another to one of your classes. They had some cool outreach placements but the one that really interested me was a feminist reading circle that would broadcast on campus radio (CIUT, maybe). Unfortunately I was pissed off to find out it was female exclusive. I have lots to say about that but I have neither the time to ramble as of now and this computer keeps fucking up/slowing down on me.
