I think I've decided that I do want to go to Africa in 06.
I hate math. With a stinking passion.
History the last couple days has been irritating. I've had to listen to several....liberal-for-no-good-reason kids complain about the United States and make...bad arguements. These are my rants from today's discussion:
1) You cannot say that colleges have become the epitomy of institutionalized racism, unless you're talking about racism against whites which no one ever does, and say that minorities that aren't in good situations in life are there because these so-called institutionalized racist colleges made them that way by not providing enough scholorships/opportunities for them to get to college. You know why I say this? I say this because in my search for scholarships for college I've noticed one very consistant thing: it is much easier for a poor minority student to find a scholarship than a middle-class white female such as myself. What proof is there of minorities not being provided with the opportunities needed for college? Come on now really.
2) When argueing against the Bush-administration it is best not to complain about our national debt and then complain about how Bush isn't donating enough to the tsunami victims. Hel-LO?!?! Tell me, how do you think our country got into so much debt? A big part of it is because we help out the rest of the world so much, often to countries who aren't able to pay us back. And that's also why we have such a large poverty percentage, Mrs. A, if we spent more time taking care of our own country our debt would be smaller as well as the poverty percentage. So, don't complain about the debt and want us to donate to help people because that's being hypocritical. And complaining that we're spending more on the war in Iraq then on helping the tsunami victims isn't a good arguement either because there are very few countries donating monotary aid to the war while every country in the world that can afford it is donating to the tsunami victims. Chew on that for awhile.
3)Global warming and the doom of our world. Yeah, I can't really rant much about this but it still annoys me. I don't have as many "valid" points either but it doesn't matter. In the 80s ppl said our oil would run out by 2000. That hasn't happened. Honestly I think people are totally overreacting about this kind of stuff. God would not have put us ignorant humans on a planet that could be so easily destroyed. I think that's being very egotistical, thinking that humans could destroy a world which only God could create. We're made in the image of God but we're not God.
I'm done. OH, and GO DINO ROSSI!!!!
I really like the Wire cd by Third Day
