Cleaning for grandma

My grandmother should be here shortly, as in within the next 20-30 minutes. She's coming over to help me with the mound of pictures left behind by her mother, as well as talk about some of the ancestry information I've found. She didn't know that her great-grandfather had siblings, for example, and apparently I'm the first one to find the manifest from when his mom, his siblings, and he came over from France; we'd only found record of his father. That should be exciting for her to see. Last night I went through the various census records and such I'd printed, and I realized most of what I have is for my grandfather's part of the family; I'll have to eventually print out some of the other forms. When I first started doing the online records, I wasn't in the habit of printing them out.

Anyway, I spent a good portion of yesterday cleaning. A lot of it had to be done anyway, not just because of a visitor, but I barely did anything last week. I'd planned on doing some stuff Friday, and then I got caught up in all the earthquake/tsunami reporting. It's such a fascinating and terrifying story. A tsunami seems like a horrible way to go; I already have a fear of drowning, so imagining all those poor people who stood no chance, or who realized what would happen and had no way to escape...*shudder*

At least now the downstairs wood floor is done, the powder room's clean, I vacuumed most of the house, and the dishes got done; today, I basically spot-cleaned my bathroom. I want to show her the online stuff, but I need a decent-sized computer for it--mom's netbook has too small a screen--so I figured grandma would have to come upstairs for that. Thankfully dad said I could use his laptop, except I've never used it before; could be interesting.
