In addition to being extra clingy yesterday, Kirby also appears to have gone into instant-molt mode. Poor thing lost a bunch of feathers during the hour and a half after the quake. Don't worry, he's not bald or anything, but it was still like, damn, bird.
Also, poor thing didn't sleep on the side of his cage like he normally would last night. Around bedtime, I saw him on the top of his cage, then on the side of the top (the cage has a curved top with sort of a little ledge on each side), and I could tell he was debating what to do. He was on the top when I got up this morning. I'm curious to see what he'll do tonight.
Around 5:30 yesterday morning I decided to lay in bed listening to the news with my eyes closed, and I used both of my pillows. Bad move--I developed a horrible crick in my neck that prevented me from turning my head properly. It's still there, minorly.
Finally, I didn't think we'd had any damage or movement, but we did end up with one crooked picture in the family room. It could very well have been crooked before the quake, but when I looked at it yesterday it was definitely not level. We don't have much art on the walls, and what we do have seems pretty secure. However, it is because we have quakes--gosh, it's hard to believe I'm saying that--that I'm fearful of hanging stuff on my bedroom walls. I really dislike the thought of something falling on my head while I'm asleep. And I think the 2008 quake did shake at least one painting off my wall.
