If you've been here a while, you know that I had a situation with a former coworker from the bookstore. After that, I re-vowed to not have any similar dealings with any other coworkers. This was not terribly difficult. However, there was one person from Company X that kind of gave me that vibe, that he's-into-me vibe, and I did my best to avoid him the one time I visited after I left.
Well, turns out I forgot about someone. I've gotten messages from Classmates.com recently saying, someone signed your guestbook! Except you have to have a paid account there in order to read said guestbook. I don't care that much, so I said screw it. And then I got a message from Classmates about some other type of message, and it turns out you don't have to pay to read that message...and it was from a different Company X person. And I do recall him acting weird around me. It did kind of creep me out just a little at the time, as he's my father's age *and* he had a girlfriend...who was younger than me...ew. And at first I didn't realize who it was because he goes by a nickname on the site. You know, okay, we ate lunch at the same time, and we got to talking because we've both had dealings with the same town, but that was about it. When he started looking at me funny, I started backing away. So, sorry dude, even though you really need to get in touch with me, it's not going to happen. You can go commiserate with the other guy, who is at least within a decade of my age.
This also gives me flashbacks to someone at the music store, whom I didn't work with for too long. He was married. We worked together back in the shop. When I left there I wrote up this whole thing where I mentioned all the employees by name, and at the bottom I put my email address. He was the only person to send me anything personal, and I just deleted them. Hello, creepy. You're MARRIED; you're not supposed to send clandestine emails to somebody you've only known for six months.
*sigh* So what kind of luck do I have when I get all sorts of random former male coworkers trying to contact me, and the only one I actually want to have contact me wouldn't do it if his life depended on it?
