Eating perfume

I got an email from my boss yesterday asking me and HRA if we wanted to go out for lunch today. I said sure, we started making plans...and at the last minute, HRM had to cancel. Bah. But HRA and I still went out. I drove and then promptly forgot where Chili's was, even though it's right by my house. I pass by it every so often. Yet I still had to take the scenic route to get there. Yes, I'm slow.

Lunch was okay. We talked about plans for the holiday and about work. She kind of confirmed something I'd been thinking about others that we work with, but that's okay. Remember, I worked with P. Pretty much any coworker after her is okay.

Part of why HRM wanted to take us out was for Christmas; she'd gotten us gifts. I got a gift set from Victoria's Secret with bath gel and lotion, among other things. I opened it after I got home and tried to sniff the lotion; I ended up getting a big glob of it right under my nose. I can't tell if the scent is strong because that's how it is, or if it's because it's concentrated right below my nostrils.

Something slightly sad: I got an angel necklace from my goddaughter in February. I've worn it constantly since I've gotten it. After the summer, when aloe got onto it, I did lose one of its little stones. Well, today, the large stone that makes up the angel's head popped out. Luckily I caught it, but I don't know if there's a way to put it back in. I have to say, after this year, that necklace did bring me a bit of comfort. Maybe the head popping out is a sign that I'm doing okay and I don't need to be looked after constantly anymore. Who knows?

Oh, but I'll end this on a better note. One of the ladies in the office bought baked goods for everyone. She gave the other ladies in the office cookies; her bosses and the big bosses got either gift boxes or bags. That was pretty nice and totally unnecessary, and she knows it, but as she told us she's a giver. She much prefers giving to receiving. Well, in that case, thank you. I will certainly take those St. Nicker Doodles off your hands.
