I was doing something at work today when I noticed a piece of paper that seemed to have a texture to it. I work with similar papers every day; none are textured. But then I noticed the problem wasn't with the paper, but with my right thumb. There appeared to be a blister on it. Weird. So, okay, I did a lot of computer work this weekend, but I've done that much before and never had a problem. Besides, I didn't notice anything at all this weekend--I'd have thought it would have appeared after Saturday--or in the shower, or even when I first got to work this morning. And then, later on, it had moved. It had started off by the tip of my thumb, like the tip and the side; an hour or two later, it had moved about a centimeter south, for lack of a better term. What the. How could it move? Then it felt like it had moved down even further, to just above the crease in my thumb by the first knuckle. So strange. I wondered if it could have been a bug bite, but again, bug bites don't move, either.
Perhaps I have contracted some sort of evil, insidious disease. Well, it was nice knowing you all.
In other news, mom started a Nordic walking class. That's where you use walking sticks to help your form and also to get you to move faster. Must...not...add...evil...comment...
I did end up picking up my film today, but I did not end up saying anything about the sign. That's partially because I had to go over to Jewel to pay for it; nobody was at the photo counter and the liquor line was too long. The pics turned out pretty well for the most part. I'm just glad that the water started receding about a day later.
Oh, and did I mention I got a contract for my writing gig? I signed it and sent it in today. They want one article from me per month. I certainly can't retire on the pay, but it's more than I've ever made for writing before, so I'll take it. Guess that means I'd better go write my next article...
