Christmas in September

I had an errand to run tonight, so I opted to go to Walmart after dinner to pick up a few things, and I found myself wandering about for a while getting ideas. Part of that is because I have this virtual credit of about $30 that I can only use online, and I may just end up spending that there. Dunno yet. I might need a wander about Target before I fully decide, but I'm not interested in doing shipping; I'd rather go pick things up.

I did manage to find the things I was looking for, plus some other stuff, so that was good. I also found some odd things I wasn't expecting to find--summer stuff on clearance, not so strange; Halloween stuff, we're about six weeks out, so that's fun; and then...oh, come on.

Christmas. In September. As in lighted trees high up on the shelves, and ornaments lined up along one aisle--lots of '80s toys, like a Rubik's Cube and Etch A Sketch. Wrapping supplies. I looked, but didn't touch, especially given that we haven't put up a full-on tree in five years. I need to start dispersing my holiday items, not adding to them.

It was kind of a bit much, to be honest, especially given that it's been in the 80s all week. We may have hit 90 even. Like, not thinking of Christmas at all at the moment. Please don't force it on me.
