On Monday, I got off work and saw that I had a missed call from an unusual number; it had an area code I didn't recognize. They'd also left a voicemail. Turns out someone named Charles is supposed to have a colonoscopy today at 11 AM local time and one of the nurses was calling to leave instructions. Well, I'm not Charles, and I definitely do not have a colonoscopy today. I know how important those calls are, so I made sure to call back.
The location was a clinic in Reno. Yes. I definitely do not have an appointment there. I called back and talked to someone, who apologized for the wrong call and thanked me for returning it and letting them know. I've known a few people who've had them done and the prep is pretty important. I wanted to be sure Charles was contacted properly.
Then, Tuesday, I'd checked my phone about noon--and there's another message from the same area code. Someone else had called, but left a very generic message, but it was about the same thing. I called back and got the same lady as Monday, who apologized, saying she recognized my number and said she'd noted Charles' account that my number didn't reach him, but clearly her coworkers weren't reading the notes. I'm guessing they're being more careful about calling him now, because I haven't gotten a call since, and given that the procedure is later today, Charles should be well into his prep. Good luck. Hope you get a clean bill of health.
