The end of 2023

Dec 31, 2023 21:19

This has not been the greatest of years, so I'm not upset to see it go. The final day of 2023 has been a typical Sunday in a lot of ways; laundry, lunch, call grandma, practice. Our tradition is to get Chinese food for dinner, then play a game, so we did that. I'd had a headache, which started while I was practicing--mild, possibly due to eye strain and/or low light. But after we finished, hoo boy. Full-on migraine. (I'm almost wondering if dad forgot to request no MSG; there was a time when I couldn't eat Chinese food because it would make me sick. Once we found out about MSG, we started ordering our food without it and I haven't had a problem since.) I had to take a couple ibuprofen and lie down for a bit. After about an hour, I felt better, but I'm still in the dark and watching the last Harry Potter movie(s) (written that way since 7 got split into two...I think we're still on the first one). Weirdly, my right arm has felt strange. I had no issues up until the migraine kicked in, and then it kind of hurt. I honestly couldn't really use it, which made me think of the migraine that put me in the hospital back in 2007, but this wasn't like that situation. Maybe I practiced a little too hard? The Fancy Band recording session is this Thursday so I was really working on the sections that have given me fits. That's the only thing I can think of. Otherwise, it's a quiet Sunday at home, and I have tomorrow off, and I will take it.

headache, chinese food, migraine, new year's eve, holiday
