Is spring break over yet?
I'm so annoyed.
Spring break + lots of new books yesterday + lots of store special orders = crazed bookseller.
When it's not the holidays, I'm used to the store being fairly slow. Somehow I must have blocked last year's spring break from my mind, as I don't recall it being quite this busy. Either that, or everyone left town for Easter (which would have been this past Sunday during this time last year).
Tuesday is the day that most new books come out, and yesterday was one of the biggest days so far this year, topped by The DaVinci Code *finally* coming out in paperback. The only reason is because the movie is coming out; otherwise I'm sure the publishers could have waited another year or two. Anyway, so lots of new books means finding new and creative places to put said books, or the older books the new ones displace. I didn't even get to that because I had to finish up the changes that R and K missed yesterday (which didn't fully happen, even). Then, on my lunch break (which was interrupted by the fire alarm--TWICE), a huge shipment of SPOs came in, virtually all of them for the store. There were probably close to 100 books there, mainly Spanish and Manga titles which R ordered for the store. The SPOs combined with everything else made me very harried this afternoon, and I only got partway through everything. Not good. But I'm in the next two days so I hope to clean it all up.
It's probably better that I get out of the house. The obnoxious little pyros next door were shooting off fireworks earlier.
