On Saturday afternoon, my dad started texting us pictures of my cousin, C3, and her family. The first one had her and her husband flanking a couple, clearly a wedding picture. Now, given how many girls are in that family, my first step was to look at the bride. She's beautiful, but which daughter is that? And then I looked at the groom--it's C3's stepson, her husband's oldest child. Ah. Congrats to him!
A few more pictures came through, including group shots of most of the kids. The two oldest daughters, S and T, live out of state and weren't there, but C3's four youngest kids were there. And, it looks like I need to pass the mantle of palest family member off to SJ. Girl looked white in the pictures. For one of them, I had to double-check that she wasn't wearing tights, but you can see her arms and neck and they're all the same color. No, she really is that colorless. I didn't notice it at the party back in June but wow.
The best part is the picture of the wine bottle C3 shared; it had the bride and groom's names on it, walking hand in hand, him with "fire dept" on the back and her with "police" on the back. Wow, they're both first responders. But her name...is clearly Polish! He married a nice Polish girl! I don't know what his mom's background is, but he's Irish on his dad's side. Perhaps exposure to C3 and her family rubbed off on him. It's reminiscent of my mom's younger brother marrying a woman from Poland. Anyway, congrats to the newlyweds, and welcome to the extended family.
