Meditation

Earlier this year, I read an article about podcasts recorded by a mom in a closet in her house. That was intriguing in and of itself, but the content of those podcasts piqued my interest as well, and it wasn't long before I was listening to one of them. You see, they're meditation podcasts, and one of the ones she produces has water and nature sounds. Those are great to put on in the background when I want to listen to something but not actively. I don't want the content to pull me away from whatever task I'm doing. I'm drawn more to the water ones specifically, but there's wind and bird noises and traffic among others. She has other podcasts as well, including one for anxiety. Her voice is soothing, though her cadences can be a little distracting at times. I woke up around 4:30 this morning and couldn't sleep and couldn't get comfortable in bed, so I put on the anxiety podcast and while it took a few episodes, I did eventually relax enough to turn my brain off, or at least distract it enough that I had dreams. It's nice that something like that exists and I appreciate the people who put them together, because it does make a difference.
