Tressed, not stressed

Today wasn't anything terribly special...did three loads of my own personal laundry (as opposed to the family's laundry), a load of dishes, and I cut my hair.

I did it. I didn't go anywhere to have it done.

I can't see spending big bucks on a basic haircut. I don't need it styled. I don't need it colored. I just want the dead ends off.

Most people look at me kinda funny when I tell them I cut my own hair. Well, most people I know haven't even seen me with my hair cut professionally. The last time I went to a shop was in March of 1997--that's prior to working at the bookstore even.

It's really not that hard. Put hair in ponytail, snip-snip, there you go. Well, there's more to it than that, but that's the main part of what I do. Of course, I'm not daring enough to go super-short, or give myself crazy layers, or anything of the sort (well, at least not this time), but hair always grows back, and I can always try again.

So far, no one has noticed.

Part of it is because it's been warm, so I kept my hair in a ponytail even after chopping off several inches. My hair went from being about an inch past my shoulders to a few inches above, but not cut to my chin.

That was my big excitement for the day.

Mom and I got a call from the place where we took our acting class, asking if we were interested in taking another class. It would be on Saturdays from 11:20-12:20. Anybody interested??? The person who called (Paul's wife...Paul being the acting instructor) didn't say what class she was calling about, but mom and I think it's an improv class. We are thinking about it, and we had a good time with the other class. It *may* start this weekend (don't know for sure), but Paul has an open-enrollment policy where you can join any time.

Grocery shopping was mostly uneventful, with the exception of me seeing the most bizarre product. It was a set of stick-on gel thingies for your keyboard so you don't chip your fingernail polish! Holy crap. People will come up with anything nowadays. See, first, I find it difficult to type with long nails, so I don't have much of a problem with my fingernails hitting the keys. Second, I hate the feeling of nail polish on my nails anyway, so I haven't worn polish in probably a decade. Still, you know some woman is going to see that, think it's ingenious, and buy twelve for all her friends for stocking stuffers.

If only I had an idea like that...

grocery store, shopping, haircut, jewel, acting class
