Coming down the mountain

The holidays are never good to my waistline. This year, especially so--I put on 8 pounds between my birthday and the new year. Note to self: Not wise to hold Meatsgiving right before Thanksgiving.

Part of this is because I haven't been very active lately, and I've been eating a ton of junk--three doughnuts in two days, anyone? It's not surprising, but when your weight hits a particular point, to where you hit the clown-y sound on the Wii when it tells you, "You're overweight," it kind of spurs you to action. That, and frigid temperatures where you should be wearing long underwear, but you know you won't be able to squeeze into your pants if you wear them. True story, I put on my Spanx on Monday, thinking they might help, and actually had to take them off because it was just enough fabric to prevent me from closing my pants. Ouch.

Things are better now. I'm looking to make a separate post about this, but I have been moving more and eating less, and I'm down about four pounds already, phew. Good, because it's still pretty cold, and will be pretty cold more so than not in the next few days, and I'd rather layer up my clothes than put on the mama bear winter layer of fat.
