Twist my arm, scrape my wrist

I am a klutzy human being. Most days I overcome it; today, I did not.

I was going between buildings for a time. On my way back up, to drop off something from BBC2, I saw that two of our room renters were chatting in the space between our waiting area and my workstation. One was waiting for her next client; the other was shooting the breeze with time to kill. I didn't want to walk through their conversation, so I chose to go around a different way, where I thought I could sneak on through an area without bothering anyone. Alas, there is a sharp corner to something near there, and I misjudged where to put my right hand, and my wrist got caught by it.

I didn't think much of it. I've done something similar before, and simply ended up with a little scratch. This, this caught some skin. It wasn't very deep, but it was wide, and also long, maybe an inch and a half. I had to go back to the other building, and did so, with my wrist suddenly screaming a bit that, hey, that really didn't feel very nice.

By the time I got to the other building, the area was red. I was bleeding, just a little. I checked the first aid kit in the bathroom and it was basically useless. Okay, let's see what's available in the kit up front. By that time, I was bleeding a bit more. Never gushing, thankfully, but definitely seeping a bit. Oy. What have I done? Thankfully, there was Neosporin and a large bandage inside the first aid kit, so I went and rinsed off my ouchie, and DW decided to help me put the bandage on. I could've done it myself but he insisted. I then spent the rest of the day holding my wrist up a bit, and realizing I don't have full range of motion with the bandage on since it's keeping things relatively straight. It's still sore, but it's not quite as stinging as it was back earlier today. My boss was at lunch and missed the whole thing, but I have three witnesses to my klutziness, as DW was manning my workstation at the time, plus a fourth in BBC who saw what I'd done when I made my trip to the back. Yeah...I'm so helpful to myself sometimes.

injury, work, ouchie, fall down go boom
