Unnatural glow

Mom recently purged items from her bathroom, and in doing so passed a few things along to me. The few things I remember are two travel-size containers of Philosophy shower gel and a good-sized tube of Jergens Natural Glow, the lotion that makes you look tan. I didn't want to use it while I was still trying to obtain an actual natural glow, so I figured, I'll use it in, say, October. Oh, look, it's October.

I first tried it Tuesday morning. It has a strong-ish smell--not entirely overpowering, but not subtle. It kind of smells like cocoa, like I should check if cocoa butter is one of the ingredients. The directions do say to give it a few minutes to dry before putting clothes on. I was able to work it into my post-shower routine so that it was after I put stuff on my face, but while I was still doing other things while not entirely dressed--in this case, plus underwear, but minus robe.

Wednesday morning. Forgot to put undies on first. Grr. Even after about 10 minutes (the undies were on by then), my legs weren't entirely dry. I'm doing legs only, since I'm mostly wearing pants at this time, and if things turned out oddly, at least they'd be hidden. My arms tend to be visible, and it would be weird to do the rest of me--plus, I'd never be able to get dressed, heh. As it is, I find myself getting lotion on my socks when I put those on. Those have been trouser socks, so at least there's a partial barrier between my legs and my pants in case there's a staining issue.

Thursday morning (today). Two days in, and my legs look a little...presidential, if you catch my drift. When I got undressed for my shower, I could immediately tell there was a color difference, and it's not a color I personally turn when I am out in the sun. The bottle is for light to medium complexions, and as a very fair person, this is not a color that complements me.

I think I'll keep using it for now, if only to use it up and get rid of it; I hate wasting product. Mom couldn't take the smell, which is why she barely used it. It's almost a full container.
