Stollen for the holidays
I mentioned that last night I went to Cost Plus. Well, my father also went last night. While I was there, I saw marzipan stollen. Stollen's sort of like raisin bread; marzipan stollen has marzipan in the middle. It's then covered in powdered sugar. It's not my favoritest thing ever, but I'll certainly eat it, and it's something my dad looks forward to. When I saw it at Cost Plus, I thought about getting it, but figured if my dad really wanted it, he'd get it himself. Sure enough. He had to go shopping for gifts for his coworkers, and during his trip he happened upon, you guessed it, the stollen. Strangely enough, my mom had gone to Trader Joe's last night and they too had marzipan stollen, and she thought about getting it, but she decided against it. That's fine--she came home with organic ginger snaps instead. If we're going to buy treats, I'd rather have a bunch of different ones instead of the same thing over and over.
