The party's almost over (tick, tick, tick...)

I made my weekly call to my boss today. I kind of didn't want to, because I kind of don't want to go back to work. And yet, it sounds like I will be easing back into things as of next week. Business hours are curtailed; we're only open from 10-5 right now. I'd likely be working 12-5 on Monday and 10-? on Tuesday--my boss initially said 12, but I really don't want to come in for just a two-hour shift, so maybe it'll be 1 PM. The manager is off on Tuesdays still, so my boss is by himself until YC gets in. She's been working 12-5 Monday-Thursday plus open-close on Saturday. My boss doesn't want us working together, so that means I would take her Monday shift, and I don't know if we'd have any overlap on Tuesday or if she'd come in at 1 PM. I asked him to talk to her and get back to me. I did warn him that I have been having stamina issues, so this will at least be something, and I suppose if I start having issues he can cut me back or what have you.

I...guess...it'll be good to get out of the house. While the front door isn't locked, the boss isn't letting people in from what I understand, so aside from a handful of people this will be a closed system of sorts. There isn't much going on so I don't really know what I'd be doing, but I can see what has been happening in the past six weeks or so and figure out where BBC is with his projects. I also have my regular monthly tasks that likely haven't gotten done, so I can check on those.

Meanwhile, back at home, mom has been working hard to reset the living and dining rooms, cleaning off the stuff we had in our china cabinet and deciding what to keep, donate, or toss. I spent much of today in my room, but I could hear her and dad "discussing" things (sometimes loudly). In addition to the china cabinet now being in the living room, the old, cheap table that our TV had been on in the family room has also now been repositioned in the living room, next to the sofa. Mom moved stuff off this little bookshelf onto it, including this clock. She put a battery in it to see if it still works; it does. Oh, it does. Dad and I quickly got reminded as to why we never put another battery in it when the old one died: It's loud. I got reminded of the Gilmore Girls episode with the church bells, where at first the town was excited to hear them again, then within a few days everyone hated the sound. I can hear it up in my room if my door's open. We can pull the battery at any time, you know.
