Within 24 hours of posting about FODMAPs, I'm having intestinal issues! Fun.
Granted, I'm pretty sure it has to do with bacon grease, and not an actual food item like a particular fruit or vegetable. Why I was eating greasy bacon will get mentioned soon enough, but yeah, soon after breakfast, things were not sitting well with me. For lunch, I had a veggie burger with cucumbers and tomatoes, the rest of the half-cucumber in slices, and blueberry yogurt. I just needed to eat something light and healthy. When it came to dinner, I about didn't eat it. Mom felt like Mexican, which I'm not much of a fan of on a good day, and it was just not gonna happen for me today. Like, two hours after my parents had dinner, I finally went down to eat something. The food was left out and the smell just made me nauseous. The only thing I felt like eating was Special K Red Berries, of which I had two bowls. That's pretty unusual for me--especially since I just poured the second bowl without measuring it, which is something I've been doing for a few years now.
I don't think I have food poisoning or anything like that; I think it's just my body saying, don't eat that. My gut has been unhappy for much of the day. I've not been a fan of greasy foods for a while, and this is just cementing that. Naturally, dad bought Italian beef and Italian sausages for tomorrow; yeah, I'll just have the beef. And I should probably tell him to stop buying the sausages unless they're a healthy version. I haven't cared much for regular kielbasa in ages; we've been getting the turkey kielbasa for years, and now I prefer it. Same with turkey pepperoni, which we'll buy for when dad makes pasta salad. I've never really been a big regular pepperoni fan, though. And, now that I think about it, I did have pepperoni for two days in a row--dad went to Aldi the other day and got a supreme take & bake pizza. It was dinner on Friday and I had it for dinner yesterday as well. Yeah...not great food choices this weekend. At least I get to march it off tomorrow. Let's hope my issues pass (*cough*) overnight.
