Valentine's Day: Little Miss Flake
Fourteenth in a series!
I was hoping to have something new this year, because I've had something floating around in my head for a few weeks. Alas, I never really wrote anything down, and when I sat down to try and remember stuff, I couldn't. Oh well. Maybe next year. However, I recalled a song I wrote years ago where I had Avery in mind as the person to whom I was speaking, and I checked the archives and it doesn't look like I ever posted it before, so here you go.
Little Miss Flake - This probably came about around 15 years ago. I have a revised version of it, which I'll put here, that has a completion date of 6-19-04, so back when I was teaching. It totally has a melody, and is so low to start that at times I can't even sing it. Just now, mentally running through it, I bumped it up a full step without even thinking about it. The chorus then jumps up an octave for dramatic effect. You'll just have to trust me on that. :P Also, it's got kind of a grunge/hard rock feel to it, which in a way is hilarious because that's totally not Avery. And, well, luckily in the past decade in a half, I've remedied pretty much everything here.
