I haven't much talked about the people to the south of us. We've known the people to the north for as long as we've lived here, but the family on the other side, they're the third ones to live in that house. Aside from teenage boy hijinks (mostly running across our lawn to reach the other neighbors), they're not so bad. They also have two dogs, but for the most part they've been pretty normal.
Then came this weekend.
I think the people directly behind them moved and new people moved in. They must have a pet of some sort that spends a good deal of time in the backyard. This weekend, our neighbors' dogs have spent a good portion of time in their yard, and they have been barking like I've never heard. It borders on disturbing, like someone is harming them. At one point, I looked out to discover both dogs running along the back fence and sniffing at said fence. Aha. There is something there that intrigues them. We've had rabbits around for years, so I don't think that's it--it's something totally new and exciting. That's why I think there's another dog. It may even be a female, with the way those two dogs are carrying on. Oh, my goodness. I think I know a couple of dogs that could use a fixin'.
And, by the way, when I left for work this morning those same neighbors had toilet paper in *their* trees. Good times.
