French Toast Crunch helps us remember the '90s

Jul 03, 2016 13:38

Back probably a couple months ago now, I found French Toast Crunch in the bargain bin at the store. I don't recall ever trying it, so what the heck. The back of the box had the following on it:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember the '90s?
The year was 1995. General Mills had just come out with a whole new cereal bursting with cinnamon and syrup taste called French Toast Crunch. Well it's back and tastes as good as you remembered. Pour a bowl and see how many of these '90s pop culture facts you recall. Score a point for each you remember.
--You played grunge or hip hop jams on your boom box.
--You remember gas being under a dollar.
--You insisted that people "Talk to the Hand."
--You had clothes that were either baggy, backward, or neon.
--You secretly prepared for Y2K.
--You went to the video store to rent VHS tapes.
--You knew the Macarena dance by heart.
--You tight-rolled your jeans.
--You practiced doing the "Running Man" in the mirror.
--You had a poster of your favorite boy band on the wall.
--You played video games at home more than the arcade.
--You used the term "Chillin' at my Crib."
--You frosted your hair.
--You totally ate French Toast Crunch for breakfast.
--You occasionally threw the word "Not" in at the end of a sentence.
Score Chart
So were you "da bomb"? Add up your score below.
12 or more - Oh Snap, you're totally from the '90s
11-10 - You're All That and a Bag of Chips
9-8 - It's All Good
7 or fewer - Don't Go There!
My score is 10. I contend frosting one's hair is an '80s thing. And were arcades still a thing in the '90s? Neon was more of a late-'80s thing, but I guess it crept into the early '90s as well.
Anyone else care to share their score?
