It finally happened

For whatever reason, once Lent ended, I found it hard to give up on the Crazy Lenten Diet. Sure, I had a crescent roll with dinner, and grandma brought cheesecake and there was no way I'd skip that. However, aside from those two things (which, admittedly, I also had past Sunday), I really didn't stray from the diet. I've had no other bread, no other cheese. We've had some treats at work, including several from the local bakery, but I've avoided them. Mom actually got mad at me because I showed zero interest in the fancy, Jelly Belly-like jellybeans she'd bought. What? I've no interest in sugar...or not fitting in my pants again. (I'd lost probably seven pounds between Ash Wednesday and Easter, but promptly put two back on after Easter dinner last week. Those...have been staying, but I was also home all last week with no extracurriculars and all the food available to me in the fridge. I should also cop to having decent amounts of Reddi-Wip as well.)

Then, Monday, I was running errands and picked up some nut mixes that included chocolate-covered nuts, and yesterday, I couldn't help myself. Dad had gotten chocolate-covered caramels recently, and I had one of those; and I had a full-size creme egg; and of course I had some of my nut mix. Planters has these three new mixes that taste like banana split, turtle sundae, and oatmeal cookie. I'd bought the turtle sundae one prior to Lent and had it staring at me for a while; the other two came Monday. So...yeah. And today, my boss' mom brought in cookies. I did wait until lunchtime to have any, but then I had five total. I will say, since I've been working longer hours yet not getting a lunch, I have been bringing in a granola bar or something similar to have at lunchtime, right at noon, so I just didn't eat what I'd brought today. The cookies were on the healthy side, at least, and were honey-flavored, which was unusual enough that I had to try them. So, I'm not entirely off the diet, but I don't think I can claim to be on it any longer, either. I'm still only drinking water, though.

food, crazy lenten diet, comments
