Guess who may have to do jury duty?
I got the letter on Monday; this was so exciting, apparently, that my mom had to stay up until I got home from band to pester me about it. Really. It's a jury duty summons. She's done it before. She should know what it entails. My date would be November 3rd, and I have to call after 5 PM the Friday before to see if I have to go in. Hilariously, that's Halloween. Trick or treat takes on a whole new meaning this year.
I made sure to mention it at work. I told a couple people yesterday, then brought in my letter to the weekly meeting this morning. There have been some high-profile stories in the county this year, most notably a case involving horses; I don't know how soon that's going to go to trial, but I'd said, I wonder if I'd get the horse trial. Naturally, my coworkers claimed I didn't enunciate very well and...yeah, there was some inappropriateness going on. Silly guys.
At some point I have to do the online questionnaire for it. I'm not there yet, but I have to do it by Saturday. Either that, or snail-mail it in. I'm just being lazy. Maybe tomorrow.
