A little help here?

It's not unusual for sounds to come from my room when I'm not there. Kirby is a noisy little bird. But I'm used to certain noises--her happy chirps because the sun's out, tweets to let us know that she's in there and we're not, that sort of thing. Sometimes when I'll peek my head in to say hello she'll crab at me because she doesn't want to be bothered. Last night, though, I heard some really unusual sounds.

It was almost like she was being attacked, but quietly. And it wasn't just once, but four times. She has a particular sound she makes when she rubs her bad eye on something, but it wasn't that; it was like she was in pain, but not like serious pain. Just...unusual. What is going on?

I walked into my room to see a long feather hanging off her wing. Oh, is that it? She'll make unhappy noises, like the bird version of a growl, when she had feathers that need to come out but won't. She must have been trying to pluck this one and it just wouldn't come out for her. Do you need a hand? Here--*pluck*. I'm surprised she couldn't get it out by herself, because I barely tugged on it and off it went. Some of these feathers can be stuck in there and it takes hours for them to come out, and I have to leave them alone to work their way out some more. Oh well. All better. You can go back to preening now.
