this weekend was pretty fun-even without a car! since i don't have transportation, people at church have been driving me around when i need it. so saturday josh picked me up and we went to fairey's house to do some yard work for her (hurray for extra income, even if it is just $10!).

i really enjoy doing yardwork. especially since i have been stressed out lately. i've found that it is a really good alternative to self-injury for me. not that i have been having a problem with that again, but when i get stressed i have a really hard time clearing my head, and that's usually when i cut. but i found out that doing physical labor like cleaning my whole apartment really thoroughly or raking leaves/mowing the yard/etc. help me think because it expels all that energy that builds up in me and doesn't have a way out.

so anyway, after doing yard work for an hour and a half, we went to walmart to buy a coulpe presents for the party we were going to that i'll talk about in a minute. i bought a nerf gun, and josh got a batman dvd. so we took them to josh's house to wrap and we watched a little tv and had a snack until it was time to pick up our friend carrie from work at the library.

then we went to the party that i mentioned earlier. the gifts that we bought were for playing a game of dirty santa, which ended up being really fun. there were about FIFTY people who showed up for the party in mary, arloa, and mary's 3 bedroom apartment (and yes i know i said mary twice, there are 2 marys living there). it was pretty crammed, but i had a great time anyway. the food was very yummy, and i got to hang out with the ENCM (every nation campus ministries) people from UNCG, A&T, and even Wake Forest drove up for the party!

so anyway, after dirty santa, i ended up with a tin of cookies which i traded to andy for a snowman nightlight which worked out really well because i had been looking for a nightlight for logan's room and he really loves snowmen and anything christmas related. and my friend felicia got some of those twisty curvy straws in different colors which she let me have to give to logan in his stocking. since he just learned how to drink from a straw this summer i thought he would have fun with them.

so i got home at around 9:30 and put logan to bed and started getting the apartment ready for putting up the christmas tree and making ornaments with logan and so forth. and finally got to bed at 11:30 (by then i was pretty tired from moving furniture, raking leaves, shopping, and fighting people for hot chocolate mugs which i didn't end up winning, but i still think i made out pretty good :) ).

sunday morning, christina picked me and logan up and took us to church. in children's church logan made a baby jesus out of playdough, lol. it was kinda cute, but very weird. they used cookie cutters to make gingerbread men type things out of the playdough and that was "jesus" (he was even wearing a bowtie, lol), and they used spaghetti for hay (which i replaced with corn husk when i got home so i would be able to save jesus from mold), and then manger was a styrofoam cup cut in half. very cute, lol. and in church for me, pastor ron had a really powerful sermon that really spoke to me and helped me out with a lot of things (if you want to hear about that part, you'll have to ask because i have already written more than most of you are willing to read :) ).

after church, logan and i spent the day together and played and put up the christmas tree and decorated it with some ornaments from last year and some angel ornaments that we made ourselves. all in all, i had a really good weekend which was definately needed and i am definately grateful for all of my friends who are helping me out through all of this (and also the ones who live/go to school to far away to help/hang out more often because i love them too!!! :) )
